Our Neighborhood

Developed beginning in the 1920s, the Ridgedale Park neighborhood is on the east side of Peachtree Road just north of Lenox Square/Phipps Plaza. Neighborhood signs mark the entries. Its 110 homes are a charming blend of early 20th century vernacular architecture in a mature urban forest. Tudor revival, Georgian and English and French cottage styles mix comfortably. Homes are built on the area’s original rolling topography,  often with deeply set-back front yards.

Many homes have undergone or are undergoing renovation, underlining the neighborhood’s stability. Walkers and joggers enjoy the gently curving streets.  Although Ridgedale Park is within easy walking distance of Atlanta’s two top shopping areas, Lenox Square Mall and Phipps Plaza,  it has the atmosphere of a quiet, established enclave.

Special Events

July

Yearly 4th of July Gathering

Every year we are always looking for volunteers to make July 4th a fun time for the kids and the adults.  Past years have features sidewalk chalk art, bike parades, foot races, food trucks, bands, BBQs, etc. All it takes is a volunteer or three with a plan and we have some funds pooled from neighbors that can help some of those efforts along and make it easier for those plans to come to fruition and benefit the whole neighborhood.

October

Yearly Halloween Gathering

Each year there has been a permit filed to close the street and a gathering of all the neighbors around or on halloween – often serving as a launching off point for the younger crowd to go trick-or-treating, but also catering to the adults with some food and beverages of their own to get dressed up for.  If there are people that want to focus on kid activities, or a bigger adult party there are definitely some neighbors that will toss some money in a hat to make some of that come together as long as there are others planning it and making it happen.  So if you have the inclination and a plan – jump in and volunteer.

Throughout the year

Food Trucks

An occasional food truck here and there. Volunteer to organize a gathering!

Throughout the year

Potlucks

An occasional less involved gathering – couple tables to hold the food everyone brings, play area for kids, low cost huge benefit.  Volunteer to be a host today!
